Leica Geosystems opens new office in Perth, Australia

18 June 2010

Leica Geosystems is pleased to announce the opening of a new logistics hub in Welshpool, Perth. Due to expansion, the company is relocating its WA operation from South Perth to larger premises which include offices and testing facilities, plus a full warehousing and logistics area to service both local and international markets.

This new warehouse facility enables Leica Geosystems to manage inventory levels, order fulfillment and shipping capability resulting in a faster and more streamlined service to resellers and customers. In addition, the company will continue to operate from its office in Brisbane, where the global research and development team for agriculture solutions is headquartered.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of the new logistics hub in Perth,” says Glenn Clark, Leica Geosystems regional business manager AusPac. “The move from the former Rinex office in South Perth comes in response to rapid expansion of the Agriculture division, in Australia, New Zealand and in global markets. With a dedicated logistics hub in Perth and sales and support services on both coasts, we are able to offer our resellers and customers more efficient service and fulfillment of products.”

Leica Geosystems launched its first product for the agricultural industry, the Leica mojoRTK auto-steer system, in early 2008. Since then, the company has grown its product portfolio through new product development and the acquisition of Rinex Technology in October 2008. Leica Geosystems now offers a range of guidance, auto-steer, auto-section and mapping equipment from manual steer to high accuracy 2cm positioning. This year alone, the organisation has launched two new guidance solutions, including the Leica mojoMINI lightbar system that also includes street navigation and Leica mojo3D guidance and mapping display with unique 3D user interface.

Leica Geosystems is a global company headquartered in Heerbrugg, Switzerland. The Agriculture division operates European sales and distribution from this head office, whilst North America is based in Denver, Colorado.

As of Monday 14th June, the new Perth logistics hub will be based at U14, 8 Tomlinson Road, Welshpool.
